Saya pernah membaca tips tentang Cara Memilih Hostingan yang Baik. Salah satu tipsnya adalah, pilihlah web hosting yang memiliki dukungan Technical support 24 jam, dan tidak hanya itu, technical support tersebut diberikan dalam berbagai bentuk baik melalui telepon maupun live chat 24 jam nonstop. Tips di atas saya pikir sangat berguna dan mesti kita prioritaskan ketika akan menentukan domain kita akan ditaruh di hostingan mana. Tapi bukan berarti ya, hal lain seperti bandwith yang disediakan dan lainnya mesti kita kesampingkan. Kan akan lebih bagus apabila kita bisa mendapatkan hostingan murah dan berkualitas sekaligus, bukannya hostingan gratis tapi bikin pusing di kemudian hari.
Saya pikir, hostgator adalah salah satu hostingan yang cukup baik, sangat baik malah. Hostgator merupakan salah satu hostingan yang bagus. Selama menggunakan hostingan dari Amerika ini saya belum pernah mengalami masalah sedikitpun. Server mereka tidak pernah down, dan layanan yang mereka berikan sedikit di atas dibandingkan hostingan dari luar lainnya. Dan dengan kualitas layanan tersebut mereka memberikan rate/harga yang tidak terlalu tinggi alias murah. Ini pula yang mungkin membuat kami tertarik hosting disini. Hostgator memberikan layanan yang powerfull seperti Disk Space yang Unlimited atau tak terbatas sehingga kita tidak perlu khawatir dengan masalah ketersediaan ruang data, Bandwidth yang Unlimited, Domain yang tak terbatas, Setup gratis, tidak adanya biaya tambahan, free mail hosting, dan lain-lain. Selain itu, hostgator dibandingkan dengan hostingan besar lainnya memiliki syarat atau tos (term of service) yang lebih mudah, sebagai contoh jika anda memiliki website atau blog dengan konten adult rate seperti situs p*rno dan sebagainya anda tidak akan di suspend bila hostingan anda di hostgator. Dibandingkan hostingan besar seperti Bluehost, Bluehost memiliki TOS yang lebih ketat dan dengan badwidth yang dibatasi.
Hostgator memiliki technical support yang sangat baik dan care. Sebagai contoh tadi malam saya sempat chating dengan salah satu customer service-nya mengenai masalah yang saya hadapi dengan domain beberapa blog wordpress saya. Pada saat masuk di chatbox saya tidak langsung dilayani dan mesti antri di urutan tiga. Saat itu seluruh 25 staf technical supportnya hostgator sedang melayani user lainnya. Untuk sekedar tahu saja, saat ini di hostgator terdapat hampir 1,5 juta domain yang hosting.

After you enter the correct nameservers (at your domain registrar, the site where you purchased your domain name), propagation usually completes within 24-72 hours. After that time, your site will be appearing on our server and your email will be fully functional. There is no positive way to tell when the process has completed. This happens because you must give the root servers of the internet, your ISP, and your local network time to clear the cached IP and server information. Even if you see the site on the new server at your local machine the person next door to you can see something different.
